Quiet on the Set!

This weekend was spent on a movie set.

It was the best. Just in case you didn't know, my life's ambition is to be an author/movie director, producer, script writer, editor, and all around flick chick ;)

I always wondered if I would really like movie sets as much as I thought I would... It was a delight to discover that I do! Remember the little clips and photos I've showed you of that movie I've been working on? Well, its pretty much in full swing now!

Yep that's me. Makes me want to laugh! Its all good though.
We had casting calls on both Saturday and Sunday. I LOVE CASTING! It has to be the coolest way to pick people and put them into a job... Basically, you see if you like the person, and see if they play with you well. How fun is that? Its really strange being in front of the camera... I've always been so involved behind the scenes! But I think it gives me an opportunity to understand my future actors better.

I'm supposed to have a sort of "love interest" apparently (which is REALLY funny if you know me, because I am pretty much NOT like that), so I read opposite a  few people for that role, and then I got to watch the casting for the part of the kidnapped princess my character is supposed to rescue. The first day, my youngest sister, Alexa, was with me, and she was totally digging being on set. Rachel came the second day, and was mostly thinking about you know who...

I just really can't believe that I am a part of a movie project right now... In fact, it kinda blows my mind! But you'll probably be hearing the adventures and what not of my directors Dave (who is the epitome of a nice guy) and Tim (who has a British accent), and Mr. Figgins (Felicia's dad, and pretty much my uncle), and other people I meet on set.

So far, my favorite actors have been two highschool graduates Eric (who auditioned for the part opposite me) and Drew (who auditioned for the part of the Princess, and whom I always want to call Dawn). We had such fun chatting and talking... I really hope they get parts! Drew especially was AWESOME! She really brought life to her character. Most of all, they are really open to talking about anything, which means that conversations could easily evolve into witnessing. Sets are such awesome places to talk to people about God. You have a ton of time on your hands, you end up bonding with people, and I feel like its the perfect place to just start sharing the gospel!

This was not the most well written post. It doesn't even sound enthusiastic. Bother =/ Oh well =)

Hanging in Limbo

You feel like everything is in limbo right now. You're transferring from one job to another. You miss hanging out with your sister, and you feel sad that she might be leaving you, but you feel that its time for her to move on. You're tired of arguments. You want to smile and move on. You have a desperate need for road trips and roller coasters, but you don't have any money. You're working on projects that feel as though they are on a treadmill. You feel melancholy about some things, and so happy about others.  Yep, everything is in limbo.

But, look back! You've come a long way. You have a long way to go, its true, but you ARE moving forward, slow as the progress may seem. You can't see now what will happen in the future. In a couple years from now, you'll be reading your future like yesterdays news, and it will all be clear. In the meantime, stay fast in the LORD. We see through a glass darkly now, but enjoy the ride, and bask in His glow.
